Language course The Au pair’s main objective is to learn the foreign language spoken in their host country of choice. The costs for the language course, together with commuting costs, are paid for by the host family. The language course is to consist of at least 120 lessons. The Au pair is to begin the language course within four weeks of his/her arrival in Switzerland. The confirmation of course enrollment needs to be filed with the local authorities. The host family is to supervise the Au pair’s school attendance and, in the event of problems, to readily offer help to the Au pair. There are many language schools in Switzerland, perhaps even in your hometown. It is advised to have a look into the different options available before employing your Au pair.
